Operating System & Licensing

Windows Server licensing, billed monthly: Standard +$16.0/month

Datacenter licensing is +$33.5/month, billed with the server's monthly total.

Select the license type, Windows Server version, and system language on the configuration page.

Available Versions

Two license types, three Windows Server versions

Choose Standard or Datacenter first, then select a release that meets the compatibility requirements of the business software. The amounts below are additional monthly license fees, not the full server rental price.

Available licenses and additional monthly fees for Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025
License type 2019 2022 2025 Additional monthly fee
Standard Available Available Available +$16.0/month
Datacenter Available Available Available +$33.5/month

The same monthly fee applies to all three versions of each license type. The Windows Server version and license type are separate choices. Check licensing for the required business software separately.

System Languages

Choose the system language at checkout

Windows is available in the following three system languages. This choice applies to the delivered system, not the language used to display the website.

English Traditional Chinese Simplified Chinese

When confirming the configuration, check the Windows version, license type, and system language together. For consistency with an existing business environment, also check the languages used by software installers, management tools, and operations documentation.

These three labels show the available options; system selection is completed on the configuration page.

Choosing a License

Match the license to virtualization plans and software requirements

License selection involves more than comparing monthly fees. First, identify the workloads running on the physical server, the number of virtual machines planned, and the Windows Server version requirements of the relevant software.

Standard: Check the scope of use

For websites or business applications deployed directly on Windows, confirm the required roles, features, and licensing scope. If Windows virtual machines are planned, check the applicable virtualization rights as well.

A low number of applications does not by itself confirm that licensing requirements are met. Check licenses for business software separately from the Windows Server license.

Additional monthly license fee

+$16.0/month

Datacenter: Assess virtualization scale

Consider Datacenter when planning to run more Windows virtual machines on the same physical server or when specific version features are required. Review the applicable licensing conditions for each use case.

Licensing rights and the number of virtual machines that can technically be created are not the same thing. Refer to Microsoft's official guidance for licensing details; this page does not estimate licensed capacity from hardware thread count.

Additional monthly license fee

+$33.5/month

Choose a Windows Server version that meets application compatibility requirements. The choice between Standard and Datacenter depends on feature and licensing needs. Licenses for business software such as SQL Server are separate from the operating system license described here.

Connect After Delivery

Connect over RDP with the address and credentials in the control panel

Once Windows is delivered, connect using a Remote Desktop client. Use the connection details shown in the machine's control panel entry; this page does not specify a username or port.

  1. Retrieve the connection details

Sign in to the control panel and open the relevant machine's details to find its address and credentials. Check the machine ID to avoid using details for a different server.

  2. Connect over RDP

Enter the address and login details provided in the control panel in a Remote Desktop client. If the machine has multiple IPv4 addresses, use the first address in the list.

  3. Check the system environment

After connecting, verify the Windows version and language before deploying business software. The renter is responsible for account management, system security settings, application configuration, and data backups.

How Billing Works

The license fee is included in the monthly total, then multiplied by the billing period

The monthly total includes the server plan, selected additional drives, bandwidth upgrades, extra IPv4 addresses, and the Windows license. The license is not a one-time installation fee and does not replace the server rental charge.

Billing formula

Amount due = Monthly total × Months

Check each monthly charge on the configuration page, then review the amount due for the selected billing period.

Monthly

Monthly total × 1

1 month; no discount.

Quarterly

Monthly total × 3

3 months; no discount.

Semiannual

Monthly total × 6

6 months; no discount.

Annual

Monthly total × 12

12 months; no discount.

The same monthly license fees apply to all four billing periods; longer periods do not reduce the monthly price. There is no setup fee or contract. Billing is in USD; available payment methods are listed on the configuration page.

Before confirming payment, check the license type, Windows Server version, and system language in the quote. Monthly base prices and optional extras for both server tiers are listed on the pricing page.

Workloads

For services that depend on a Windows environment

Windows can host applications that require this environment. The examples below highlight what to check for each deployment; business software is not included with the operating system.

IIS Websites

Before deploying websites and application pools, check the required Windows roles, runtimes, and certificate configuration. Back up website files and configuration separately.

Check roles and runtimes

SQL Server

Check which Windows versions are supported by the database version, then plan data files, logs, and backups. Confirm database software licensing separately.

Check software licensing

.NET Services

Select the required runtime and hosting model for the application. Check service account permissions, dependencies, and log paths before deployment.

Check app dependencies

Windows Business Software

Use the software vendor's system requirements to choose a Windows version and language. Prepare installation media, software licenses, and a recovery plan rather than relying on the operating system name alone.

Check version compatibility

The standard configuration includes two 1TB NVMe drives, each directly attached, with no hardware RAID. The renter is responsible for operating system and business data redundancy and backups; an operating system license does not replace data protection.

Confirm the Windows version and language during configuration

Select a memory tier, Windows license, and system version, then check the monthly charges and billing period before checkout. Current availability is shown in the control panel.
